Tendencies and prospects of development of the family in a rapidly changing modern world are of great interest and practical importance. Among the Sakha people observed the strengthening of the family institution. Today in the conditions of modernization processes in society are of particular importance in the stability of family and relations. In this article, on the basis of literary sources, fi eld research, the author draws attention to the functions and importance of the modern family in the traditional values of the Yakuts, the stereotypes of family behavior.
